Abstract
As one of the early investors of YAHOO Inc, and the founder and major
shareholder of YAHOO-Japan, SoftBank and SoftBank' s Founder and Leader
Masayoshi Son have been playing in the global big league for many years.
However, since SoftBank did not use it' s own brand on a large scale, many
people may have overlooked SoftBank. This changed when SoftBank took a US$ 15
Billion loan and acquired 20% of global Vodafone plc in a leveraged buy-out.
Recently, our company is asked almost daily for advice about SoftBank and the
probability for success and risks for failure. This report gives an overview
of the SoftBank Group of companies, and in particular of SoftBank Mobile,
formerly Vodafone KK.
