Analysis of Accuracy and Coverage of Real-Time Traffic Information

Abstract
This research service compares the accuracy of traffic flow data provided by
Inrix Inc. and by Traffic.com in three metropolitan areas -- Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania; Providence, Rhode Island; and Washington, DC. Predicted travel
times provided by these two services are compared to actual travel times
recorded by "ground truth" test runs. The study also lists the metropolitan
areas covered by Inrix and by Traffic.com. This study was originally prepared
for Inrix and is released by Frost & Sullivan by approval of Inrix. The
original study was completed in September 2006, and the Addendum was completed
in October 2006.
