Abstract

This insight discusses the change in emphasis in the satellite industry from a focus on government and corporate infrastructure needs to one much more focused on consumer demand. This has come about though the decrease in demand for traditional telephone trunking and the development of direct broadcast television serving consumers directly and has resulted in much greater satellite industry revenues as the satellite industry moved up the marketplace food chain.
