Abstract
Global WiMAX development continues to move ahead at a rapid pace in 2009, as
there were 335 commercial WiMAX networks in the world at the end of 2008 with
as many as 200 new networks planned in the coming year. WiMAX network coverage
has expanded to close to 450 million people and the WiMAX vendor community
also continues to make progress on much needed devices such as embedded
notebooks and mobile devices, which are already being trailed in many key
markets.
