Abstract
This IDC study shows that the market for business continuity
and disaster recovery (BCDR) services in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan),
or APEJ, region will experience a compound annual growth (CAGR)
of 10.9% between 2008 and 2013. With this outlook, the
market is expected to grow from US$626.62 million in 2008
to more than US$1 billion (US$1,050.59 million) in 2013. To
understand the spending on business continuity services by organizations, this
study looks at the various drivers and inhibitors of the
market, as well some of the key end-user insights obtained
from the Asia/Pacific IT Services Survey conducted in 2008 and
2009.
"The BCDR market will continue to grow as organizations are
faced with increasing concerns on security issues and natural disasters
that have created an awareness for continuity solutions and the
convergence of storage, security, and continuity forces organizations to seek
vendors with capabilities to protect and secure their business," says
Gowtham Sampath, market analyst, IT Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
