Abstract

The report is devoted to review of market of chlorine in the CIS

The report is a desk study. As information sources, we used data of Federal Service of State Statistics of Russia (FSSS of Russia) and Ukraine (State Statistic Committee of Ukraine), CIS Inter-State Statistic Committee, Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS of Russia) and Ukraine (State Customs Service of Ukraine), Russian official domestic railage statistics, Statistic Agency of Kazakhstan, sectoral and regional print press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as web-sites of enterprise-producers and consumers.

The Report is composed of 6 Sections, contains 127 Pages, including 47 Tables, 26 Figures and 2 Appendices.

The first Section of the report presents information about existing processes of chlorine production, their features, required resources and their quality and directions of their supplies to producers of chlorine.

The second Section of the report is devoted to analysis of chlorine production in the CIS. The Section presents requirements of valid technical norms and standards imposed on quality of chlorine, statistics of chlorine production in 1997-2009, estimation of regional pattern of the production, description of basic producers of chlorine.

The third Section analyses foreign trade transactions in chlorine in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The Section presents data on volumes of chlorine export and import, estimation of regional pattern of the supplies, as well as data on volumes of supplies of chlorine by exporters and importers of the product.

The fourth Section presents information about prices on chlorine at domestic Russian market, as well as analyses data on dynamics of export-import prices on chlorine for the latest years Russia, in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The fifth Section of the report presents supply-demand balance of chlorine in Russia and Ukraine, estimation of regional and sectoral pattern of chlorine consumption, description of basic end-uses and company-consumers of chlorine, analysis of factors, which owe demand for chloride at domestic markets of the countries.

The sixth Section of the report is devoted to forecast of development of chlorine market in Russia up to 2015.

Appendices present intra-plant consumption of chlorine by enterprise-producers in Russia and contact information for for contacts with producers of chlorine of CIS countries.
