Tablet coating is the process of coating a tablet's surface with a coating material to achieve the desired properties of dosage form over the uncoated tablet. The tablet coating is done to mask the color, odor, or taste of the tablet, to incorporate another drug to fight the side effects of the original drugs, to enhance the expiration date, encapsulate the tablet with a smooth surface, to protect the gastric environment of the human body, and to control the release of the drug in the human body.
