LSH 22.07.19As continuing climate change concerns gain urgency, many states have increasingly pursued stronger regional clean energy goals. Maryland recently joined this trend in mid-April, passing Senate Bill 528 (also known as the Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022). More specifically, Maryland joins a growing set of states targeting 100% clean energy, a list that now includes California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Virginia and Washington. However, with Maryland as the most recent example, there are a number of potential roadblocks on the horizon for at least some of these states to meet these clean energy targets.
