Major manufacturers all logged double-digit revenue growth in 2022, but due to the order revision of integrated circuit (IC) designers, the foundry market was bleak in the first half of 2023 (1H23). However, there is still rigid demand for semiconductors in the market. Inventory is expected to be cut progressively in supply chains in the second half of 2023 (2H23), and foundry orders will gradually stabilize, bringing opportunities for growth in 2024," said Galen Zeng, senior research manager, Semiconductor Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
