This IDC report details the 2023-2027 forecast for security technology spending, encompassing software and hardware, for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The report presents data drawn from IDC's Security Spending Guide, which covers investments made by organizations from all size segments and all vertical sectors. This data is cross-referenced against the findings of IDC EMEA's Office of the CISO Survey, 2023, which investigates the priorities, pain points, strategies, and motivations of security leaders across the region. "In 2022, the uptick in security technology spending we expected materialized, with strong growth across the various software segments, while hardware spending remained flat. Most CISOs are seeing their budgets maintained or increasing, driven not only by new investments but also by rising costs related to talent, SaaS, inflation, and exchange rates. Budgets continue to be tight, and CISOs are seeing an increase in cost-based metrics reported to senior management." - Associate Research Director Mark Child, European Security, IDC EMEA
