  This IDC Perspective examines results from IDC's August 2024 Industry TechPath Survey and highlights some of the trends and areas throughout utility organizations that are seeing increased investment and adoption of cloud technologies and applications. "Utilities slowly but surely are beginning to increase the use of cloud across the value chain. As the utility sector continues to digitally mature and grow its adoption of cloud use, positive business and operational outcomes are expected to occur. Cloud can bring a plethora of benefits to utility organizations including better business and operational continuity, quicker application deployment, and greater scalability and flexibility of IT resources and computing capabilities," said John Villali, senior research director, IDC Energy Insights.
