This IDC Perspective is an aid for the IT buyer on the many journeys organizations are making to modernize and transform their organizations in this new AI world.Organizations are moving quickly along the AI journey, including making more and faster decisions to migrate from on-premises applications to modernize their core enterprise applications to move to AI embedded within the workflows. IDC's February 2025 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 1, finds 35.6% of organizations are seeing benefits with employees quickly adapting to new AI-enabled ways of working. Organizations need to look at their pathway to value and capitalize on it so AI can be embraced as it is rolled out."The digital transformation journey seems never ending. With AI coming to the forefront, organizations must understand where their journey is headed and the various pathways to success," said Mickey North Rizza, group vice president, Enterprise Software at IDC. " The journey is multidimensional, but the promise of a new digitally savvy enterprise is at the heart of modernization and transformation."
