This IDC Perspective provides feedback from Fortune 2000 organizations on the top criteria they utilized to select partners for their application modernization initiatives. IDC conducted two dozen interviews by phone and the web with varying enterprises and government entities across the world. Through the interviews, IDC sought to gain insight into how the organizations approached application modernization and what criteria they used to help them navigate service provider selection. The interviews spanned 13 industries - energy and utilities, high tech, restaurant, professional services, construction, food and beverage, aerospace, consumer products, financial services, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and government - across seven countries including the United States, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, and Brazil."Modernizing applications have grown to be a major enterprise initiative, and organizations are hard at work transforming their applications portfolios to build business agility and achieve digital transformation and business objectives.
